*CONGRATULATIONS Everyone to The FRUITS of my LABOR back in Rose Lane Ward and THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAY WISHES FROM BUCKEYE*

Dear Family and Friends,

How are you all doing? How was your Thanksgiving? Well, I had a great Thanksgiving and Birthday in the Arizona Phoenix Mission - Serving the Lord and helping other Come unto our Savior Jesus Christ.  The weather this week has been really nice again starting to get colder in the nights but the days are nice and warm.  We had a lot of Turkey last week.  We had 4 turkey dinners in 3 days, on Wednesday we had dinner with the Dobbs family that just started to come back to church.  Thursday we could only go out by appointment only so we had turkey dinner with the Mahers and then with the Vervado family right after so we were stuffed with turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pies.  On Tuesday, I was on exchanges with the district leader in their area with his companion Elder Severe who has been out for 2 months.  They cover the Southwest area of our mission so there area is huge.  We went to visit some members that live in the middle of nowhere surrounded by dessert with a 2-3 neighbor houses then you would not find another house for a few miles.  We had a great lesson with Andrea who we got to know her a little bit and taught her part of lesson 1 the Restoration.  We focused on teaching her about how families can be together forever since she had a sister that pasted away a few years ago.  It was a wonderful spiritual lesson to help comfort her and help strengthen her Faith in Jesus Christ and through him and our Heavenly Father's plan we can see our loved ones again.  Back to my area, we had a great week of visiting members and having prayers with them to bless them and get referrals of people who they know can benefit from a prayer.  I had a wonderful birthday yesterday - we had meetings from 8:45-9:20 am then another meeting from 9:30-10:20 am then church from 10 am-3 pm.  There were great talks on the sacrament and how it is the most sacred meeting that we go to partake of the sacrament to remember Jesus Christ and renew our covenants that we made with God.  It has the same cleansing power as Baptism to clean us from our sins and start a new week and always strive to become a be6tter follower of Jesus Christ.  Then we had a birthday dinner with the Carmicaul family whose son Brakens birthday is the same day as mine.  Sister Gazway in the Buckeye 1st ward was nice enough to make me a chocolate cake for my birthday which was very delicious.  So I had lots of food and sweet treats with Thanksgiving and my Birthday.  Then this morning I got a call from Elder Vaoga my last companion - that 5 people The Ledezma kids: Florena, Florissa, Florencio and the Armstrong Kids - Ben and Britney that I taught and prepared got baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday.  That truly made my so happy to know that they got baptized.  Even though I did not witness their baptism and confirmation, it brought me joy to see the fruits of my labors that I helped them receive the Gospel and Come unto Christ and enjoy the blessing that come from entering the gate to eternal life and having the constant companion of the Holy Ghost to help them stay on the right path.  Thank you everyone for the wonderful birthday gifts and cards.  I love and miss you all.  Take care and have a wonderful week.

Love,

*HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL FROM BUCKEYE, ARIZONA*

Dear Family and Friends,

How are you all doing?  Well as for me I am doing great here in Buckeye - Sharing the Gospel and helping others Come unto Christ.  The weather was perfect this past week in the 70's during the day which felt wonderful.  Well, I had a good week in the mission field.  My companion Elder Romrell has been sick and has been having a hard time sleeping since last Monday, so we have been mostly inside the whole week.  It has been pretty tough for me to be inside because I love to get out and do missionary work, finding and teaching our Heavenly Father's children the Gospel and how it can bless their lives.  So I have been doing a lot of studying which I love doing to help me gain more knowledge about the Gospel; but after so many hours of studying during the day it gets tiring and I start going crazy because there is nothing much I can do besides watch some church movies and videos.  I have been using some of the time to go through our area book and getting to know the area map and where people live since I will probably be taking over the area when my companion leaves in 3 weeks.  Well, I did have a great time at our mission tour on Wednesday where Elder Koeliker, a General Authority of the 70's came and talked to us.  It was a spiritually packed meeting hearing from him and his wife, with Elder Picroll, President and Sister Taylor, and having a testimony meeting to end our mission tour.  It was so great to hear from Elder Koeliker that we as missionaries have been set apart and are just like the Quorum of the Twelve and 70's to be witnesses of Christ and have the Authority to bear witness of him and preach his Gospel. That really struck me hard that our Heavenly Father would trust us with that calling.  We also are having a Christmas campaign where members can direct their friends and family to check out mormon.org/christmas and also invite us over to share a Christmas message about the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.  I also went on mini exchange with my district leader Elder Barlow to a few lessons we had.  We taught Ginny Torez about the Word of Wisdom and taught the Noble family about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  It was really great to get out and teach them.  Well that was my week.  Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving with their families.  Thank you so much for all your wonderful letters and birthday wishes.  I will truly cherish this Thanksgiving with some great food and being with members of our Ward.  I would just like to say that I am Thankful for you all and everything you do or did in my life to shape the person I am today.  I thank my Heavenly Father for this opportunity to be a missionary and share this wonderful Gospel so Families can be Together for Eternities.  I love and miss you all.

Love,
Elder Lance Cabral

*THE PRAYER APPROACH IS THE WAY TO GO IN BUCKEYE*

Hola Familia y Amigos,

Como Estas?  I am doing great here in the mission field doing the Lord's work and bringing others unto Christ.   It is starting to get pretty chilly here in Buckeye in the mornings it is in the high 40's then in the day it warms up to about 65.  Time to bring out the sweaters to wear anytime it is below 65.  Well I had a pretty good week.  We got to meet some of our investigators this week and start to teach them.  We had a lesson with the Hornburgers kids this week on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  They are ready to be baptized but wont until their moms boyfriend agrees that they can get baptized.  We also had a great lesson this week with Allie Delgado on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Her husband is a member and they just got married a few weeks ago.  She asked a lot of good questions that we answered to help her understand our beliefs.  We invited her to be baptized and she said if she knows that it is true she will be baptized.  Hopefully, the next time we meet we can set a date with her to be baptized.  On Friday, we had a great zone meeting, a big focus of our meeting was on finding new investigators because nothing starts in missionary work until we find people to teach.  We discussed our prayer contacting where we go to members home, we offer to have a prayer with them to ask God for any blessing they need in their lives, then we ask them if they know anyone that we can have a prayer with and help them feel the spirit that comes from praying to our Heavenly Father.  We are also doing the Prayer approach when we go tracting to soften their hearts and help them recognize the Spirit of Prayer.  We also discussed that by next Spring we should be getting a lot more missionaries in our mission about 250, currently we have 170 missionaries.  So we have to prepare for them by doing the best we can to help them be succesful missionaries.  We have to tighten up on our obedience by following the mission rules, work hard, and set good examples when they come into the field.  On Sunday, we had a multi stake conference with all 95 stakes in Arizona.  It was a broadcast from Salt Lake where Elder Holland and Elder Erying spoke.  Elder Holland gave a powerful talk on missionary work with the new changes in missionary ages and how members have to be more involved in missionary work because times are changing and more and more people are not opening their doors because of what is going on in the world and how members have to open the doors for missionaries by inviting their friends and family to learn more about the Gospel.  We also had a cool experience last night where this Truck driver from Nebraska wanted to talk to some missionaries.  The Bishop from our ward called us and told us to go to a truck stop to talk to him.  He was going through some hard times so we talked to him and gave him some spiritual guidance and comfort.  The spirit is so amazing to help us know what to say to people to help them feel our Heavenly Father's love for them.  Well that was my week in the field.  I love and miss you all.  Take care and God bless until next week have a fantastic week.

Love,

*BUCKEYE IS THE PLACE TO BE DURING THE HOLIDAYS*

Dear Family and Friends,

How are you all doing? Well, I am doing great here in my mission - Sharing the Gospel and helping our Heavenly Father's children receive the Gospel in their lives.  Last Wednesday, I got transferred to Buckeye and got a new Companion Elder Romrell.  I was sad to be leaving Glendale because we had some great work going on there; but I helped prepare people to Come unto Christ so I know I accomplished what I was sent there to do.  I was really shocked to be sent out to Buckeye because it is different being in the country.  Our area is pretty big because there are lots of farming fields like cotton, corn, and dairy farms.  It is totally different from the city where there is nothing but houses and buildings.  There are quite a bit of subdivisions, neighborhood's scattered throughout our area that we work in and Share the Gospel.  We cover two wards - Buckeye 1st ward and Sundance ward.  I have met great members yesterday at church.  Elder Romrell is a great companion that is energetic and funny that likes to have fun and do missionary work.  He finishes his mission in 5 weeks so I will be his last companion.  So I am learning from a skilled missionary and I will keep him working hard until the end of his mission.  We have a few investigators that came to church but no one committed with a Baptism date yet.  We are trying to find new investigators by visiting members, having a prayer with them, and then asking if they know anyone that would be interested in learning.  Finding through members are the most effective way to get solid investigators that the Lord is preparing to receive the Gospel.  We go tracting sometimes but it is not very effective because lots of people are not interested or they are not home especially in these areas because people work or go to school during the day.  I live with a very nice family the Maxwell that have 2 twin boys at home, one on a mission in Paris, and 3 on their own or in college.  On Saturday, we had a cultural fair at our Stake Center that was really fun.  There were stations around the cultural hall that represented different countries talked about their cultural and had some sample foods to try.  Guess what the Hawaiian booth had Spam and Rice as their food.  It was great and a lot of fun for those that attended with great presentations including the Hula.  We had our own missionary booth that talked about the Gospel and had pamphlets and Book of Mormons.  Well that was my week in the mission field.  Hope everyone is doing great.  I love and miss you all so much.  My prayers are always with you.  Until next week.  Take care and have a Great week!

Love,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral
