MEMORIAL DAY in PHOENIX, ARIZONA

Hey Family and Friends,

How is everyone doing? How is Memorial Day weekend going?  Well for me, I am doing great here in Phoenix, Arizona serving the Lord and teaching the Gospel to our Heavenly Father's children.  This morning we went with the Spanish Elder's to play soccer with some members from the Spanish ward.  It was really fun but now I am sore from all the exercise we did.  This week we focused on going through our potential investigators and seeing if they were interested in learning about our Heavenly Father's plan.  It went well, we got 2 new investigators Richard and Big Q that seem interested in learning more.  We had a wonderful zone conference on Thursday.  We had some great talks by a Stake President on following the counsel of our Mission Leaders and the Spirit to help us be better servants of Christ.  Our monthly focus for the mission is the Doctrine of Christ on repentance, President Taylor talked on how we should always help others repent so we can activate the Atonement of Jesus Christ and enjoy the blessing that our Savior sacrificed his life for us so we can return to live with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our families forever as we repent and keep the commandments through out our lives.  We did some great skills training on teaching repentance in a Gospel principle class that we teach in lesson 1 the Restoration of the Gospel.  We also did a skills training on our prayer approach to offer to bless their homes and families and ask God to strengthen them with anything they are struggling with.  It was a spiritually packed day of learning the Gospel.  Larretta our investigator is doing really well, she went to a baptism on Saturday and loved it.  She cannot wait to get off  probation and be baptized.  Well gotta go sorry so short.  I hope you all are having a great Memorial Day.  My prayers are with you all love.

LIFE IS GREAT IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA

Aloha Family and Friends,

How is everyone doing?  I had another great week in the mission field sharing the Gospel.  The weather was pretty nice this week, except for a few days it was hot - 105 degrees.  We had some great lessons with Laredda this week.  She is doing well, still struggling with the Word of Wisdom but cutting down on smoking.  We went over the baptism interview questions with her and found out she is on probation so she cannot get baptized until December when she is done with probation.  We were so bummed to hear that but it gives her a lot of time to learn more about the Gospel and build her testimony.  We hope she keeps that spirit going strong until she can get baptized.  We also had a great lesson with Dylan a 16 year old.  We taught him about reading the Book of Mormon and prayer to strengthen our Faith and get guidance.  Our recent converts Shelly, Sandy, and Roobie are doing really well in the Gospel.  It is a wonderful feeling to see how they progress in the Gospel after they get baptized and confirmed with the Holy Ghost to comfort them.  They seem so much happier every time we see them and help them grow in the Gospel.  We went to visit Peter G. and told him we miss seeing him at church.  He has not been coming the past few weeks.  Well that was my great week in Phoenix serving the Lord and helping our Heavenly Father's children receive the Gospel.  I love being a missionary and sharing the greatest message about the Gospel to all those that want to hear it.  I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives and wants us to be happy in this life and for eternity.  My prayers are with you all.

Happy Mother's Day from Phoenix Arizona

Hola Familia Y Amigos,

Como estas todos?  Well, I am doing great here in Phoenix sharing the Gospel and doing the Lord's work.  Sandy Santana got baptized on Saturday.  The spirit was so strong at her baptism.  She felt so peaceful and pure.  Then when she got confirmed the Holy Ghost on Sunday she was so joyful and happy.  When the bishop announced her the newest member,  she had a wonderful light of Christ glowing from her as she just got the Holy Ghost to guide and comfort her.  Sunday was a great Sabbath day and Mother's day.  We had a great sacrement with talks by a new couple that moved into our ward a month ago.  They gave wonderful talks on how their mothers are such a big impact in their lives and part of our Heavenly Father's plan for Families to be Together Forever.  Larreda Read is doing great.  She came to church on Sunday and had a great time.  We had great lessons with her this week on the commandments and she accepted to live them.  She is struggling with the Word of Wisdom, so we gave her a blessing to help her overcome it and told her to continue to pray and read the scriptures and God will give her the strength.  She is getting baptized on May 26 we are so excited for her.  We got a new investigator this week Dylan 16 years old.  We are meeting with his mom - Sister Williams who is less active and trying to help her come to church and live the Gospel.  We taught him the Restoration of the Gospel and commited him to baptism.  He is set to be baptized on June 2.  It was so wonderful to talk to my family on Mother's day and hear how they are doing.  We got transfer news this morning and Elder Bartleson and I are both staying in North mountain Area for the next 6 weeks.  We are both excited because we got some great investigators we are teaching.  Well gotta go.  Love you all and you are always in my prays.

ANOTHER AMAZING WEEK IN PHOENIX, AZ

Hello Family and Friends,

How is everyone doing? Well for me, it was another wonderful week in the mission field serving the Lord and doing the Lord's work.  The weather was still very nice this week in the mid 90's, drinking lots of water throughout the day keeps me hydrated.  We had some very great lessons this week with the investigators we are teaching.  Sandy's Baptism got postponed because she went into the hospital on Saturday, she is pregnant and was not feeling well and having pains from her baby.  She got out of the hospital a few hours later and was doing well.  She just needed to stay home and rest.  Hopefully she feeling good this Saturday and gets baptized and receives the Holy Ghost to help and comfort her.  We also had a great lesson with Lareda on Friday about strengthening our Faith in Jesus Christ by praying, reading the scriptures, going to church, serving others, and keeping the commandments.  She did not know if the Book of Mormon was true and she was not receiving any answers from our Heavenly Father.  We promised her that if she continued to read and pray about the Book of Mormon that she would receive an answer.  She text us the next day saying "YES, I am ready to be Baptized".  We were so excited to hear her good news after we were bummed about Sandy's baptism.  Lareda has a baptism date for May 19.  Lareda had a great Sabbath day at church.  We had a wonderful fast and testimony meeting.  The spirit was so strong that I had to go up and bear my testimony about the Gospel and how grateful I am to be a servant of our Savior - Jesus Christ and preaching his Gospel to all our brothers and sisters in Phoenix.  We also taught the Gospel Essential class on the Atonement and how we can live with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our Families for Eternity as we live the Gospel through our lives.  Robie Moore recent convert is doing really well.  She seems to always be happy since she got baptized and received the Holy Ghost to help and guide her.  On Saturday, I was on exchanges with zone leaders Elder McBribe and we had a lesson with Sandy, we read 2 Nephi 31 with her and prepared her for her baptism.  Then we did some visit with some potential investigators.  We made it a goal to talk with everyone we see not only the people we pass on the streets.  We had 4 return appointments to give a Book of Mormon or do a prayer with them.  That strengthens my Faith that the Lord is truly preparing people for us to teach and help them come unto Christ as long as we are doing our best to share the Gospel with all those we come in contact with or see.  Two of those return appointments were from people out in the yard and as we are going up to them and offering help.  Well that was my amazing week here in Phoenix.  I love being a missionary and sharing the Gospel and our Heavenly Father's plan for all of us to return to live with him.  I want to wish my Mother and ALL Mother's - Happy Mothers Day! this coming Sunday.  I cannot wait to talk to my family this Sunday.  I should be calling around 12-1 Hawaii time.  Well until next week! Take care.

Love,
