*Congratulations RYCHELLE & MAHALO Sisters for Sharing Your Talents*

Dear Family and Friends,

How is everyone's summer going?  Well for me, it was another fantastic week here in the mission field.  We had an awesome baptism for Rychelle Clark.  The spirit was so strong through her baptism service.  She was so excited and anxious for the day to come so that she could follow our Savior Jesus Christ and be baptized.  It was so spiritual as 2 sisters in the Relief Society gave talks on Baptism and the Holy Ghost.  Then some of the young women sang a beautiful musical number to bring the Spirit in so greatly before the Ordinance of Baptism.  Then I had the privilege to baptize Rychelle and help her become spiritually reborn as a Disciple of Jesus Christ and enter the gate towards Eternal Life.  She was so happy as she came out of the water.  Then we had a brother who served his mission in Arizona bear his testimony in Navojo to Rychelle.  It was wonderful & spiritual experience.  Then she got confirmed the Holy Ghost on Sunday and became the newest member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  That was my highlight of the week, but the rest of the week was also great. We had a lesson with a lady we have been teaching for a while - Joanne.  She loves when we come over because she is 77 and lonely so she likes to talk about her life.  We taught her about agency because she has some family members that are Mormon but do not live some of the commandments.  So she is not sure if she wants to get Baptized.  We keep teaching her but it might take a while for her to gain a testimony that the Restored Gospel is true.  We also taught a new investigator Diane on Tuesday but she has some questions about the Book of Mormon.  Her boyfriend is a member but less active so we are trying to also get him active.  A cool experience in tracting this week was on Saturday, I was on an exchange with Elder Anderson and we knocked on this house and the lady came out and told us she wanted to come to church and it was crazy how we knocked on her door.  The spirit is awesome, how our Heavenly Father truly does prepare people to hear the Gospel and how it can bless them.  She came to church on Sunday with her sister and two kids and they had a great time.  On Saturday, we also went to the Phoenix Temple site with some recent converts, Diane and her boyfriend Marcus came.  It was great to see the progress of the temple being built.  Elder and Sister Winchell - couple missionaries assigned to the temple gave us a tour and talked about history of temples and what we do in the temple and how it is so important for us to return to live with our Heavenly Father and Families for Eternity.  It should be completed in a year and a half, so hopefully I have a chance to see it and go inside before I finish my mission.  Sunday was a great Sabbath day we had some great talks in sacrament on the Blessings of the Temples.  Temples are truly the House of the Lord where we go to make covenants with God and families can be sealed for time and all eternity.  Everything we do in the Gospel should lead us to Temple so we can enjoy the fulness of the Gospel and return to the highest degree in the Celestrial kingdom and enjoy Exaltation.  It is so great to prepare people for Baptism so one day they can enjoy the peace and the blessing of the Temples.  Baptism is the only gateway to eternal life we still need to go to the Temple and make additional ordinances that are required for our Salvation.  I hope all my recent converts work towards entering the Temple some day.  We also had a cottage meeting at President Cathcart (Stake Presidency) where all the missionaries in the zone bring their investigators and he gives an awesome lesson on the Restoration of the Gospel and how we can know for ourselves by reading and praying about the Book of Mormon.  Well that was my great week in the mission field.  Hope all is going well with everyone.  The weather was pretty good this week, some days were hot and some days rained.  My prayers are with you all.

Take Care Love,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral

HOLA from Glendale, AZ to Everyone Especially in HAWAII!

Dear Family & Friends,

How are you all doing?  How's the summer going?  This week was a great week here in Glendale - Sharing the Gospel to our Heavenly Father's children that are waiting to Come unto Christ. We had some great lessons this week.  Rychelle Clark is doing great.  She has a great Spirit when we teach her and prepare her for her baptism this Saturday, July 28.  We are so excited for her to be baptized and become a member of Jesus Christ's church. We also had a great lesson with Awell on the Law of Tithing and Sabbath Day.  She also has a strong desire to follow our Savior and be Baptized to Receive the Holy Ghost to comfort her and guide her back towards our Heavenly Father. She was supposed to be baptized this Saturday, but she cannot because her boyfriend is living with her.  She is thinking about getting married soon so she can keep the Law of Chasity.  We also had a great lesson with John Philip, we watched the Restoration of the Gospel through Joseph Smith.  He is a very nice guy that is from Sudan, Africa. He loves learning about the Gospel, but he cannot come to church because he works on Sunday.  On Thursday, we had our Quarterly Zone Interviews with President Taylor.  We talked about our monthly Christlike Attribute: Obedience.  We talked about the importance of being obedient because we want to have blessings for us and our investigators, have the spirit with us, and most importantly because we love our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.  We also watched the show 17 Miracles.  A great movie on the Trek Mormon Pioneers traveled to Salt Lake City.  We had a great ward social on Saturday to celebrate Pioneer Day.  John and another investigator Susan had a great time.  Susan has been investigating the church for over a year and cannot get baptized until she gives up coffee and lives the Word of Wisdom.  On Saturday there was a dust storm that made it pretty hard to see.  It quickly passed through as we were riding to the Ward Social party.  Sunday was a great Sabbath day.  We had 6 investigators that came to church.  This week we focused on visiting the prospective Elders and see how we can help them come to church and advance in the Priesthood. Well that was my week in the mission field.  Hope everyone is doing great.  Thank you to everyone that writes me letters.  I love hearing about how every ones doing and what is going on in your life.  Take Care.  My prayers are with you all.  I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loves us all and wants us to be happy and return to live with them in the Eternal Life.  I love the Book of Mormon and how it builds our Faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and through his Atonement we have Eternal Joy.

I love you all,

What a Great Reward for Johnathon in Glendale, AZ?

Dear Family and Friends:

How is everyone doing? How is summer?  I am doing just great here in Glendale - Sharing the Gospel.  The weather was nice most of the week.  It started of hot, but it rained a few days.  The work is going great in our area.  Johnathon Grize got baptized on Saturday, it was a spiritual experience to see him Follow the Example of Jesus Christ and make his covenents with God.  Then on Sunday he got confirmed a member of the church and received the Holy Ghost.  He was very happy to finally get the Holy Ghost to help him.  Awel is doing great, we had a great lesson with her this week on the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chasity.  She understood why we have these commandments and committed to living them.  Her baptism is still on track for July 28.  She might be moving to New Mexico next month to live with family.  She really wants to get baptized so she can have the Holy Ghost to comfort and help her.  We also had some lessons with Mary on having Faith in Jesus Christ.  We committed her to read and pray about the Book of Mormon.  She is having trouble understanding why she has to be Baptized by Priesthood Authority.  This week we did quite a bit of finding through Prayer Approach.  We are also trying to visit members in our ward and see if they know anyone that would be interested in learning about the Restored Gospel.  We met some less active members and are trying to help them come back to Church.  We have not been able to meet with Rychelle these past few weeks, they have been out of town.  We are going to postpone her Baptism until next Saturday, July 28.  Well that was my week in the mission field.  Hope all is well with everyone.  Hope your all having a wonderful and fun summer.  My prayers are with all.  Take care I love and miss you all.

Love,

SUMMER IS HEATING UP IN GLENDALE ARIZONA

Hola Familia Y Amigos,

Como Estas?  How’s everyone’s summer going?  Well, I have been doing great here in Glendale sharing the gospel and helping Heavenly Fathers children come unto Christ.  Well, I had a pretty good past week. The weather is starting to heat up because it is going to be 112 degrees today. This week we had some great lessons with our investigators. Lots of them were busy because of summer and 4th of July. Jonathan Crize (9yr) is doing great we taught him all the lessons and he is ready to get baptized this Saturday, July 14 at 11 am. He is so excited to be baptized and make his covenants with God. We taught him the Plan of Salvation and Gospel of Jesus Christ and he loved it. We try to do object lessons with kids because their attention span is not that good. We also had a great lesson with Sheldon Parker a part member family. His wife and kids are members so we are trying to complete the family. He is a very nice guy that wants to learn about the Gospel but not sure that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel. We taught him about the Book of Mormon and read Moroni’s promise (Moroni 10:3-5) bore testimony on the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and committed him to read and pray to receive an answer. We also had a great lesson with the Jewell family on Baptism and the Book of Mormon. The husband is a member and he has a non-member wife and 2 kids. It went great they had some concerns that we cleared up with them. Hopefully this week we can meet with Rychelle, she has a baptism date for July 21 and Awell’s baptism date is for July 28. We tried to focus on visiting members and less actives to see if they have any friends or families that are interested and help them to share the Gospel with them. That is my great mission experience for the week. Hope everything going well with you all. I love being a missionary and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all those we meet. Seeing others feel the Spirit and want to enjoy the blessing that come from following our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is an amazing feeling. I know that the Gospel is true and we have the restored Gospel on the earth today. Families can be together for eternity through living the Gospel and continually building our Faith. Take care. My prayers are with you all.

*ROSE LANE WARD HERE WE ARE TO SERVE YOU ALL*

Dear Family and Friends,

How’s everyone doing?  I had a great week here on my mission.  The weather is really starting to get hot. On Tuesday, my companion and I went to say bye to our investigators, recent converts, and some members that we were close to.  It was sad to say bye to all the people we got to know and loved.  But we knew our Heavenly Father needs us someplace else to share the Gospel. Then on Wednesday, we went to our transfer meeting to find out where we were going and meet our new companion.  It was great to see the new missionaries entering the mission field and hear them bear their testimony on how excited they are to serve the Lord.  Then it was the moment everyone at the transfer meeting were waiting for President Taylor to announce our new areas and companions.  I got transferred to Glendale in the Rose Lane Ward and my new companion is Elder Vaoga.  He is from Samoa and I knew him since I first came out on my mission.  We were in the same district back in Peoria North. After transfers we got straight to work by teaching lessons with a lady Awell and we taught her the Restoration of the Gospel. She really felt the Spirit after we told her about the First Vision and we bore our testimony that the Gospel was restored through Joseph Smith. We set a date with her for July 28.  Then we had another lesson with Rychelle on what Christ did when he came to earth.  She is set to be baptized on July 21. We met with a new investigator on Friday, Jonathan he is 9 years old and he is the last of his siblings that are not baptized. He lived in Mexico for the past 2 years and the church out there was so far for his family to attend.  He is a great kid that has a lot of knowledge about the Gospel so we are pretty much reviewing with him the lessons and teaching him things he does not know so he prepare himself for his baptism on July 14.  On Saturday, we had a spiritual baptism for LJ Crawford, he is 10 years old.  He had some family that came to his baptism that were non- members and his grandma said they might be interested in learning more about the Gospel. Sunday was a great Sabbath day going to my new ward and meeting the members.  This ward is kind of small with only about 100 people that attend church. I will do my best to build up this ward and bring God’s children closer to him. Well that was my great week in the mission field. Hope all is well with everyone. My prayers are with you all.

Love Always,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral
