Hola Familia y Amigos,
Como
estas todo? I am doing great here in Buckeye - Sharing the Gospel and
helping our Heavenly Father's children Come unto Christ. The weather
here in Arizona is still pretty cold in the mornings but during the day
it is still nice and warm. This week is transfer week being only a 5
week transfer with the change of the MTC cutting everyone's MTC time by
1/3 so English Missionaries will be there for only 2 weeks. I am not
getting transferred because I am training Elder Wilson for another
transfer as part of the 12 week infield training program. This transfer
there is going to be 26 new missionaries with only 4 finishing their
mission so our mission will be at over 200 missionaries in the Arizona
Phoenix Mission (APM), so they will be splitting areas so we might be
covering only 1 ward, not sure yet. Well, it was great to hear that
there will be 58 new missions opening this July with 2 new missions here
in Arizona with the Scottsdale and Gilbert Missions. Our mission will
be getting smaller with the increase of missionaries coming out with the
age change. We are excited and anxious to hear how they are going to
transition the 2 new missions. Well, I had a great week hear in Buckeye
- Sharing the Gospel. We had a great lesson with Destiny, a part
member wife on the Plan of Salvation and we committed her to be Baptized
on March 9 and told her to pray if she should be baptized. We stopped
by to visit them yesterday and see if she received an answer and she
said she did. We were so excited for her and she feels this is what God
wants her to do is to be baptized and make that covenant with God. We
also had a great lesson with Megan on the Atonement and the Sabbath
day. She has a concern about coming to church because people will judge
her for being a single mother and she does not have nice clothes to
wear. We beared testimony that God will bless her for keeping the
Sabbath day and she will feel the Spirit as she comes to church. She
did not come to church so we are going to get more fellowship from the
Relief Society at lessons to help her feel more comfortable about coming
to church. We had a tough day on Saturday visiting our investigators
in Palo Verde area we stopped by Loly and she said she is moving to
Kentucky this week. Carolyn smoked as we stopped by to visit her
whenever she gets stressed out she smokes and cannot give it up because
she has been smoking for over 30 years, then we stopped by to visit
Marshall to see how he is doing and offer to help him but he does not
want to meet with us anymore. It was hard but we cannot get discouraged
as long as we are doing everything we can to help them strengthen their
Faith in Christ to help them through their lives and God will continue
to help them when they are ready to receive his Gospel and realize how
it will bless their lives and help them prepare to return to God's
kingdom. Well that was my week in the mission field. Hope everyone is
doing great. I love and miss you all. I know that the church is true
and Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. Take care and have a great
week.
Love,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral
