*CONGRATULATION's to GEORGIANNA & GABRIEL in Glendale, AZ*
Hola Familia y Amigos,
Como Esta Todo? Well as for me, I am doing great here in Glendale sharing the Gospel and helping our brothers and sisters Come unto Christ. The weather here is starting to get cold especially in the morning and night’s(60's). During the day it is nice and warm with a cool breeze which reminds me of home. The work is going great in the Rose Lane Ward. Georgianna got married on Saturday to Gabriel. It was a very beautiful wedding to see them make their covenants with each other. They were so happy when Bishop Reese announced them as husband and wife. It was a good turnout of family, friends, and some ward members that came to witness their special day. It is amazing to see how after 8 years of being together and 4 kids they finally chose to get married. After she got married she met the requirements to be baptized. She had her baptism interview on Sunday and passed with flying colors. She is so excited to be baptized this Saturday, October 20 and make her covenants with God. The Lord truly prepared her to receive the restored Gospel. I had some amazing spiritual experience teaching her the Gospel and helping her to come closer to our Heavenly Father. The Armstrong kids are doing great, Ben and Britney want to get baptized but they need to come to Church twice before they can. Their grandma keeps telling us that she will come to Church but they never show up. The grandma is less active and has not been to church in a long time. So we do not really know what we can do get her to church. It is hard sometimes working with kids that really want to get baptized but their parents will not bring them to church. We do not want to baptize them into inactivity, we will keep working with them. The Ledesma kids are also doing great. Florena wants to get baptized because she knows it will bring her closer to God. Florrisa is not really sure so we keep teaching her so she can have a desire to be baptized. Then Florencio is getting more involved in the lessons, reading and answering questions. It is great to see the spirit softening his heart to get him more interested in the Gospel and how it can bless his life. When we first starting meeting with them he did not want to learn and would not pay attention. The Wookie family are doing great, but they do not come to church. We call them in the morning but they do not answer. We have been struggling to get investigators to come to church so we are going to get some good fellowship family that can come to the lessons with us and invite and offer them a ride to church. Wednesday we had a wonderful meeting with President and Sister Taylor for our Quarterly Zone Interviews. Great meetings help us focus on when to drop an investigator that is not progressing. It is sometimes sad to stop visiting investigators that you love and want them to receive the Gospel but if we are not fulfilling our purpose as missionaries by helping them building their faith, repentance, getting baptized, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring until the end then we have to give them some time when they are ready. We also went over the baptism calendar and how we can help our investigators for Baptism by having a calendar and the things they need to do so they can be ready come unto Christ. We had a wonderful Sabbath Day yesterday, we had a recently returned missionary that returned from his mission in West Africa. It was so spiritually uplifting to hear his missionary experience and how he helped our Heavenly Fathers children receive the Gospel. Well that was my great week here in the mission field. I love and miss you all so much. Thank you to everyone that writes to me and keeps me going in doing the Lords work. Till next week Adios.

*182nd GENERAL CONFERENCE FROM GLENDALE, AZ*
Dear Family and Friends,
How
are you all doing? How was your General Conference Weekend? Well for
me I am doing great here in Glendale, Arizona - Sharing our Heavenly
Father's wonderful Gospel to his children so they can have his blessings
and return to live with him. The weather is really starting to get
nice it was in the 90's most of the week, but this week should start
getting more warm in the 80's. The nights are really cool and great
when I am riding around sharing the Gospel and going to our
appointments. Well the work is going pretty well. It was a tough week
for us because did not have too much lessons with our investigators
only 3 and none of our investigators came to watch General Conference
with us at the Stake Center or in a members home. We reminded them
about General Conference but something came up or they were busy. We
are really going to try to set up Baptism Calenders with our
investigators that we set appointments to meet with them on certain days
and time, church, and set a date with them to have as a goal to prepare
them to be baptized on a certain day that we pray and feel they can be
ready to make their covenants with God. Baptism calenders are very
effective. If they understand how it will help them progress toward
baptism and receive the Holy Ghost and if we as missionaries emphasize
the importance of keeping track with them what we have taught them and
what they need to know to be ready to be baptized. We try to teach them
all the missionary lessons before they are baptized, and anything else
we feel they need to continue to learn before they become completely
converted to the Gospel and continue to progress after they are
baptized. General Conference was very spiritually uplifting and
inspiring. It was so wonderful to hear from our prophet and church
leaders and their counsel to us to keep us on the straight and narrow
path towards Eternal Life. It was so exciting to hear the announcement
from President Monson that young men can start their missions at 18 and
young women can go when their 19. Hopefully we will have a lot more
missionaries in the coming months and years to Serve the Lord and share
the Gospel. We surely got a lot of spiritual nourishment with all
those wonderful spiritual messages that will make us stronger and better
Disciples of Christ to withstand the adversity of the world. The
Armstrong Family is doing well. We had a great lesson with them on the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. We thought it would be fun to do an activity
where we had a rope that represents the Iron rod and had the principles
of the gospel along the rope: Faith, Repentence, Baptism, Holy Ghost,
and Endure to the End. After they got to the end of the rope we
explained all the principles along the way, they got to pick the fruit
from the Tree of Life which we gave them candy as a prize. Object
lessons work really well with kids cause it is fun and they pay
attention better. We also did this with the Wookie Family kids and
they also loved it. I loved the talks during General Conference that
they gave analogies to help us understand what they are teaching better
it works really well for all us to understand the Gospel more
effectively. We are going to try to implement in our teaching so we
are better Servants of Jesus Christ the greatest teacher, who would
always teach in parables to help people understand it clearly.
Georgianna is also doing great. She is getting married by Bishop on
Saturday then she will be ready to be baptized on October 20. Well
that was my great week in the mission field with lots of great
experiences that makes being on a mission the best time of my life. Well
hope everyone has a great week. You ALL are always in my prayers. Take Care!
Love Always,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral

*STRIVING FOR THE STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE*
Aloha Family and Friends,
How are you guys doing? Well, I am doing just great here in Glendale - Sharing the Gospel and helping our Heavenly Father's children come closer to him. I had a wonderful week teaching our investigators the Gospel and helping them prepare to enter the gate back to our Heavenly Father through Baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost. This week my companion and I goals were to reach our missions Standards of Excellence which is 2 baptism within the month, and within the week from Monday thru Sunday 4 people with a baptism date, 5 investigators at sacrament, 10 member present lessons, and 5 new investigators. We had 2 baptisms earlier this month with Barb and Jessica, 8 investigators with a baptism date in October, 3 investigators at church, 12 member present lessons, and 7 new investigators. We tried our best but came a little bit short on investigators at sacrament. We reminded them about church and even setup rides for some but something came up for lots of them such as not feeling well, sleeping in, or do not answer our calls. So we are really going to focus on teaching the importance of the Sabbath Day with them and help them have a desire to come to church and feel the spirit. Coming to church is so important in an investigators progress in the Gospel to help them keep the commandments, learn more about the Gospel, having fellowship from the Ward, and after their baptized renew their covenants that they make with our Heavenly Father so they can always have the Spirit to be with them. Georgiana is doing really great, this week she talked to the Bishop about being married and they set a date to be married on October 13. We were so excited for her and her boyfriend found a job this week and telling his family he is getting married. We set her baptism date for October 20 a week after she gets married so she can finally make her first covenants with God. The Armstrong kids - Ben and Britney are also doing great, we are reviewing the lessons with them to prepare them for their baptism on October 13. We taught Raymond the Gospel of Jesus Christ and committed him to be baptized on October 27 as a goal. He does not feel ready to be baptized until he feels like he knows more, so we will keep working with him until he feels ready and he also needs to get married first so we need to go over the Law of Chasity with him. We met with a former investigators this week who was taught a year ago. Great family from Africa and we are going through the lessons with them again to refresh them about the Gospel and we committed them to be baptized on October 27. Thursday was a great and fun day, in the morning I went to a specialized musical training meeting which was a wonderful spiritual meeting. We were taught how to lead the music as a chorister and how wonderful music can bring the spirit into our meetings and lessons. We had a special guest, William Johnson taught us about using appropriate music for our meetings. He is a professional piano player and played some beautiful hymns that was so spiritually uplifting to listen to. Then in the evening we took some of our recent converts and investigators to the Mesa Temple - Barb, Jessica, and Georgiana came and had a great time. We took them around the Mesa Temple and went through the visitors center and watched some great videos about how Families can be Together Forever through living the Gospel and the ordinances performed in the House of the the Lord. It was so great to hear Jessica, a 15 year old say that she wants to find someone in the church so she can go inside the Temple someday and be married for time and all eternity. It was so wonderful to go to the Mesa Temple and feel the strong Spirit there. Well that was my wonderful week in the mission field hope everyone is doing awesome. The weather is still pretty hot during the days - 100's but the nights are starting to get chilly low 70s. I know that the Gospel and church is true and that it has been restored through Joseph Smith and we have a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson who continues to lead us on the straight and narrow path towards eternal life. I know that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and it testifies that our Savior, Jesus Christ atoned for all of us so we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and our families for Eternity. Your all in my prays. Have a fantastic week. Take care.

*THE BOOK OF MORMON IS SHARED TO THOSE IN PHOENIX, AZ*
Aloha Ohana and Friends,
How are you all doing? Well for me, I am doing just great here in Glendale - Sharing the Gospel and helping others receive the happiness that comes from living the Gospel in their lives. This week was pretty good, it was pretty hot - from the week before but it should start cooling down. We had some great lessons this week with our investigators that we are teaching. Last Sunday, we were riding home for the night when we met a former investigator that we thought moved out of our area so we talked to her for a little bit and found out she moved a few blocks away. She told us where she lived so on Tuesday, we went back to teach her and her 2 siblings. She was not there but we met with her siblings Ben (11yr) and Britney (15yr) and started teaching them. They were taught most of the lessons before so we are just reviewing it with them and committed them to be baptized on October 13. We also met with the Ledesma kids (Florrena, Florisa, and Florencio) this week and read 1 Nephi 8 with them about the Tree of Life and committed them to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it is true and if they should get baptized. We also met with Georgiana this week and continue preparing her for her baptism. She needs to meet with Bishop to discuss getting married soon. We also met with Joanne and read Alma 7 with her and taught her that everything lays upon the Book of Mormon and it is the keystone of our religion. The Book of Mormon is evidence that the Gospel was restored through Joseph Smith and we continue to have the fullness of the Gospel today through a living prophet Thomas S. Monson. We ended the lesson by reading Moroni 10:3-5 with her bearing our testimony about the Book of Mormon and committed her to read and pray about it and she will receive an answer that it is true by the power of the Holy Ghost. We know that if she sincerely wants to know the truth that the Holy Ghost will confirm her that it is true and by living the principles and ordinances of the Gospel she can return to live with God again. This past week we had a great transfer meeting with 24 new and excited missionaries that joined the Arizona Phoenix Mission. It is so wonderful to hear the new missionaries bear their testimony of how grateful they are to start their mission and serve the Lord. My companion Elder Vaoga and I did not get transferred but we had to go to a meeting so we got to see the missionaries who got transfered to new areas with a new companion. We had a great Sabbath day with wonderful talks on doing Family History work and doing the ordinances for our ancestors so they can enjoy the blessing of the Gospel. Then we had a very spiritual missionary fireside that evening with great talks on the restoration of the Gospel, Plan of Salvation, and the Divinity of Jesus Christ with wonderful musical numbers that made the spirit so strong. Well that was my great week here in the mission field teaching the Gospel and helping others Come unto Christ so they can be on the straight and narrow path towards eternal life. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ lives and loves us all so much that they want us to return to their presence. The Book of Mormon is the word of God that testifies of our Savior, Jesus Christ and his ministry to the people in the americas. Jesus Christ is our Savior and redeemer that atoned for our sins so we can be with our families for eternity. My prayers are with you all. Till next week. Take care and have a great week.

*LIFE & WEATHER IS GREAT IN GLENDALE, AZ*
Hello Family and Friends,
How are you all doing? I am doing great here in Glendale - Sharing
the Gospel and doing the Lord's work in helping our Heavenly Father's
children come unto him. The weather this past week was really nice. It
is starting to cool down and some days it is perfect in the 80's. We
had a very spiritual baptism on Saturday for Jessica Luzania. It was
so great to see her make her covenants with God and how happy she felt
by being spiritually reborn as a disciple of Jesus Christ. There was a
great support from the Young Women that gave talks and sang a beautiful
musical number that brought the Spirit so strongly before Jessica
entered the waters of baptism. Her sister Georgiana and her boyfriend
Gabriel came to witness the baptism. We hope Gabriel felt the spirit
and sparks some interest in him to learn about the Gospel and how it can
bless his families life for eternity. Georgiana cannot get baptized
because she is living with her boyfriend and 3 kids. We had a great
lesson with Georgiana on Monday while her sister was getting interviewed
for Baptism and the Spirit was so great in that lesson. We had a
member that sat in that lesson with us on how she can bring up to her
boyfriend her desire to get married so she can get baptized. It really
builds my faith on the importance of members in our lessons because
they bear powerful testimony and they can relate to things we do not
have experienced yet such as marriage and kids. We always strive to
get members at lessons because they help us teach and testify about the
Gospel and it is our key indicator that we report each week during our
weekly call ins. We also had some great lessons with Raymond on the
Plan of Salvation and helping him learn about our purpose on earth is to
prepare to return to live with God and our families for Eternity in the
Celestrial Kingdom. We also met with Vanessa this week and read the
Book of Mormon with her and help build her Faith but we keep setting
appointments with her and she keeps cancelling so we are going to give
her a break for a while because she not keeping the commitments towards
Baptism and it might not be the right time for her yet. We keep
praying that things will work out with her and she gets the burning
desire to continue to learn more about the Gospel and make her first
step towards eternal life by being Baptized. We had a great lesson
with Barb our recent convert and handed her over to the Ward Missionary
to teach her the new member lessons. She was so sad that we are not
coming over to teach her anymore, but she understood our purpose as
missionaries is to invite others to Come unto Christ and receive the
Gospel through being Baptized. It was so great to teach her and see
the spirit working in her and building her faith in christ and how it
already brought many happiness and joy to her and her families life.
We hope she continues to live the Gospel and prepare for additional
covenants that we make in the House of the Lord, the Temple. I almost
forgot that the day after we had a lesson with Georgiana on telling her
boyfriend she wants to get married, he agreed and so we are planning for
them to be married on September 29. So then she can be baptized in
October. We were so happy to hear that great news and we are working
with the Ward to have the Bishop marry them and have a reception at the
Church. God certainly makes things work out as long as we trust in him
and keep his commandments. Well that was my week in the mission
field. Hope everyone is doing well. I love and miss everyone so
much. Take care. My prayers are with you all. I just got transfer
news this morning and I am staying in Glendale for another 6 weeks.

*CONGRATULATION'S BARB DAVIS FOR GETTING BAPTIZED*
Dear Family and Friends,
Love,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral
How is everyone doing? Well for me, I had a great week here in
Glendale sharing the Gospel and doing the Lord's work. Barb Davis got
Baptized on Saturday and the Spirit was so strong there. She was so
happy to make her covenants with God and come Closer to him. She had
some of her family that came to witness her Baptism and hopefully they
felt the Spirit to want to learn more about the Gospel and how it can
bless their lives. I was so privilege to confirm her a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ and confer her the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I am
so honored to have the Priesthood from God to give others one of the
greatest gifts we can receive from our Heavenly Father to guide us and
protect us in this mortal life so we can stay on the right path back to
our Heavenly Father. We had some great lessons this week with our
investigators. We met with Raymond and had a short lesson with him
reading 1 Nephi with him to help him understand the Book of Mormon and
feel the Spirit that it is Words of God to help us learn more about
Gospel. We also had a lesson with Dian on the Book of Mormon trying to
help her know that it is true and the Gospel was Restored through
Joseph Smith who translated the Book of Mormon by the Power of God. We
also met with the Ledesma family and taught the 3 kids about the Plan
of Salvation and committed them to be baptized. The 2 daughters
Florena(9yr) and Florisa(11yr) wants to get baptized but the older
brother Florensio(13yr) is not really interested in what we are
teaching. We are going to try to get him to come to young men and have
the young men fellowship him. This week I had a pretty cool tracting
experience. We were tracting at these town houses when we knocked on a
door and the guy let us in without even talking to him about why we
were there. We got to know him and his family talked to them about the
Gospel and how Families can be together Forever. We setup an
appointment with him for Saturday, but he called us on Friday and told
us he does not want us to come over anymore he going through some
problems. We were so bummed, they seemed like a wonderful family that
is ready to receive the Gospel and bring Eternal joy to their Family. We
will try to stop by in a few weeks and check how they are doing. We
had a great ward cook off on Friday night which consisted of chili,
bread, and pies that were very delicious. Barb and Dian came to the
cook off and had a great time meeting the members of the Ward. Sunday
was a great Sabbath Day. We had a return missionary from the Glendale
YSA Ward who just came back from his mission in San Rosa, California.
He shared some wonderful experiences on his mission and how it helped
him spiritually grow. This weekend we got Jessica Luzinia (15yr) set
to be baptized on Saturday. She is so excited to be baptized and loves
the young women in our ward. Her sister Georgiana cannot get
baptized until she get married because she is is living with her boyfriend
and they have 3 kids so we are teaching her and helping her make those
step that will lead her to baptism. We are having a hard time getting
in contact with the Mins Family - Vanessa, Camia, and Tashaney - we keep
praying that things are okay and we can meet with them soon so they can
Come unto Christ and enjoy the blessing from be baptized and receiving
the Holy Ghost. Well that was my great week in the mission field
helping other prepare to meet God so they can return to live with our
Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and Families are Forever. My prayers are
always with you all. Take care.
Love,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral

*EVERYONE CAN HAVE ETERNAL HAPPINESS & LIVE WITH OUR FAMILIES FOREVER*
Aloha Family and Friends,
How are you all doing? I am doing great here in Glendale - Sharing
the Gospel and helping others Come unto Christ. This week was pretty
good, lots of our appointment fell through but we still had some great
lessons with some new investigators. We had a great lesson this week
with Dian on the Book of Mormon, she is starting to read the Book of
Mormon from the beginning. She had some questions when she was reading
it so we tried to clarify some things. She has a lot of concerns but
hopefully by reading the Book of Mormon, the Spirit can resolve them and
she can know that the Gospel has been Restored and it can help her come
closer to our Heavenly Father. We took Barb Davis to a Baptism on
Saturday and she loved it. She had her baptism interview right after
and passed. She is getting baptized this Saturday - September 8. We
also had a great lesson on Wednesday with a new investigator Raymond on
the Restoration of the Gospel and committed him to read and pray about
the Book of Mormon. His girlfriend is a less active member so we are
trying to help her come back to church also. He seems pretty
interested in learning about the Gospel and how it can bless his life.
We also had a lesson with the Ledezma's family on the Gospel of Jesus
Christ. Her mother - Lisa is a member but her 3 kids are not baptized
so we are starting to teach them. We had a great Sabbath day, small
church attendance because it being Labor Day weekend lots of people were
busy but we still had 4 investigators that came to church. We did not
get to meet with a lot of our progressing investigators this week.
The Mins Family - Vanessa, Tashaney, and Camia are set to be baptized
next weekend September 15. Jessica Luzinia is also set to be baptized
on September 15. September is looking to be a great month for our
investigators to make their first covenant with God through Baptism and
Confirmation and enter the gate towards Eternal Life. That was my
great week here in the Mission Field Teaching our brothers and sisters
the Restored Gospel that our Savior - Jesus Christ taught and showed us
the way to Eternal Happiness. Through the Atonement we can return to
live with God and our Families Forever. The Gospel is so amazing and I
am so honored to be able to represent - Jesus Christ and help those
that the Lord is preparing to receive his message and how it can bless
their lives. I love and miss you all. My prayers are with you
always. Take Care and may our Heavenly Father continue to guide and keep
you all safe.
Love,
Elder Lance Kuhi Cabral
